Description

A small, tidy first nest for a founding queen or a colony of up to a few dozen workers. It is 3D printed with separate chambers, a moisture section you keep damp from the outside, and a clear acrylic lid. The red acrylic cover blocks the light ants can see, so they settle in the dark while you can still look in.

Before you move ants in

• Peel the protective film off both sides of the acrylic
• Rinse the nest and soak the sponge
• Move the queen in once she has a few workers; a founding queen is happiest left in her test tube until then
